About You
How do you choose the best piano teacher for yourself (or your child) – especially when there are so many to choose from?
The answer is pretty simple – you have to know yourself and what questions to ask.
Do you see yourself as a formal person or very casual? Do you thrive more on structure or are you a free spirit? Are you shy and reserved or outgoing and fearless?
What are your goals - are you headed for a career in music or do you have a desire to play for pure pleasure? Are you interested in studying classical music exclusively or do you like other styles as well? Do you have a desire to compete? How far are you willing to travel? What is your budget?
About Me
At my casual and cozy home studio, you will get instruction customized to your goals and talents which includes a well-balanced “diet” of theory, technique, and repertoire. Whether you are a brand-new beginner, a transfer student or picking up where you once left off, I can help you fill in any gaps in your learning and start right from where you are today.
Since my ideal student shares my passion for music and a willingness to study regularly, my studio is full of a wide variety of ages, personalities and musical tastes, all of whom love music and wish to be able to express themselves more effectively with it.
While some of my former students have gone on to pursue music or music teaching as a career, others have taken up other instruments (sometimes more than one), perform in bands, orchestras or musical stage productions and write songs. Still others find sheer joy that solitude with their own instrument brings.
I wish you good luck in your search for the best piano teacher for you – and if it turns out to be me, I look forward to the challenge of helping you answer many more questions.
