Tuition

In-studio private lessons are offered at a monthly tuition rate for 45- or 60-minute lessons, weekdays from September through June.

Monthly rates: 45-minute lessons……......................$175/month
60-minute lessons…................…............................$220/month

Tuition is due the last week of the month for the month to follow, with some exception (TBA). Payments not received by the first lesson of the month will be considered late. Repeated late payments may result in termination of services. Summer lessons (July and August) are separate and independent of school-year lessons (see “Summer Lessons” below). Rates are subject to change at any time.

Discounts
Effective June 1, 2008, a discounted rate of $150 per month, per student, discount will be offered to new students only who schedule a lesson time that begins before 3:00pm. A discounted rate of $140 per month will be offered to seniors 65 and over if the lesson time scheduled begins prior to 3:00pm. All lessons scheduled to begin at 3:00pm or later are subject to full tuition for all ages and levels.

Interviews and Auditions
There is no audition required to qualify for study. A 30-minute, no-cost interview is required prior to beginning study, to insure that student, parent (when applicable) and teacher all have compatible expectations and goals. Please call Lisa Wall-Urgero to schedule an interview if you are interested at 805-558-3767.

Missed Lessons / Student Absences
No refunds and no makeup lessons will be offered for missed lessons. One to two weeks’ notice may make a traded lesson possible. 24-hour notice of an impending absence may be done by email; same-day cancellations require a phone call. No missed lessons will carry over into other months or summertime. No lesson will be given to a student who arrives without materials.

Teacher Absences
If the teacher must cancel or miss a lesson and not be able to make it up, 25% of monthly tuition will be deducted from the following month.

Termination of Lessons
If you have concerns about your lessons, please talk to Lisa Wall-Urgero. Should it be necessary to discontinue lessons, two-weeks’ notice is required, whether or not the student chooses to attend any lessons that fall within the 14-day period.

Communication
All communication (except same-day cancellations) will be done via email. Please be sure to keep your email address updated with the teacher.

Transfers
Transfer students are welcome. Be sure to resolve any obligations, financial or otherwise, with your current teacher before beginning study with a new teacher.

Safety, Courtesy and Parking
Parents are always welcome to sit in on lessons. Siblings who are capable of sitting quietly and keeping themselves busy are also welcome, as long as it is not distracting to the student and teacher. To help maintain a clean and healthy studio environment, remove your shoes and wash your hands upon arrival for your lesson.

Students, parents, siblings and guests
The studio is my business by day and my family’s home by evening – and it sees many people each week. To preserve this shared space, please remove your shoes in the entryway and keep backpacks and feet on the floor…and off the furniture.

There are many children living on my street
– many of whom are outside playing on Torrey Pine Court after school. Please keep the neighbors happy and safe; park on Plumeria Court (the one-way street mine meets at the east end). To access Plumeria Court from the end of the cul-de-sac called Cypress, take the middle drive and veer left at the fork. There are several parking spots along Plumeria and out on the cul-de-sac. If your vehicle is too low-profile to make the decline back into the cul-de-sac, feel free to park at the end of Torrey Pine Court and walk to the studio. Thank you for your courtesy and cooperation.
